So my new art room is not exactly new. But it is new to me and I am so thrilled! I finally have my own room after four years as an art itinerant. No more cleaning and packing 3 or 4 rooms every fall and summer. I just have to do one. Now its not at an elementary school but at a wonderful middle school (going back to my roots-my first job was at a alternative middle school). I was anxious about it since elementary has been so good to me but also excited about the new adventure. I came several times during the summer before school started to get a feel of the room and to get a jump start on decorating. They did a fresh coating of white on the walls. I inherited the clean classroom from the lovely Barbara M. who retired the previous school year. She came to visit and give me some wonderful advice! My son and sister came to help me set up the room. Obviously, I did more to it but I will add more pics soon. One of the empty wall, I filled with empty crayola boxes I have been collected from my previous schools just for this reason. My son Kiernan did his best to help his mommy out.
